Neuschwanstein
Hohenschwangau
(a few pictures only)
Linderhof
I spent one lovely week in the south of Bavaria in August 2000. My German friend Edith and I had planned to visit Ludwig's castles and enjoy the mountains and the lakes of this beautiful area, along the Austrian border.
Hohenschwangau, is  the castle where Ludwig lived as a child and a young man. Neuschwanstein is a much bigger and richer version of Hohenschwangau, and finally, Linderhof is a small but incredibly ornate jewel.
The Alps
We had the most beautiful weather and so could enjoy the mountains fully
Hopfen am see
We had the most beautiful view there is from our rented appartment.
Fussen
The town of illusions.
Garmisch
A posh but still charming resort.
Some baroque churches
So many of them, for all tastes.
What too much really means.
